There are three major points to consider when choosing peace. I will not be shaken. No matter what happens in the world around me, I choose to be rooted in Christ and trust in Him until my deliverance. I need church. Church isn’t just a building, a place to go or a thing to do. Instead it is an integral part of my existence where I am refreshed, strengthened and inspired to take on the world around me. Peace is here and actually surrounds us. The spirit of the Lord covers the earth and God is peace. We simply have to choose it and embrace it.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Isaiah 26:3 NIV
Point 1 - I will not be shaken.
Are you there or are you getting there? Do you feel like you have arrived or are you on the same journey as everyone else. My prayer is for everyone to be there and one day it will come true.
“Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. When you appear for battle, you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and his fire will consume them.”
Psalm 21:5-9 NIV
Point 2 - I need church.
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:19-25 NIV
Point 3 - Peace is here.
“Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!””
Matthew 8:23-27 NIV
Choose the peace that passes all understanding. Let the little things go. Overlook and find the best in others. Some issues simply aren’t worth taking to task. Remember it’s your choice.
1. I will not be shaken
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 KJV
2. I need church
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”
Hebrews 6:10 NIV
3. Peace is here
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Galatians 5:13 NIV
Burdens and worries are not from God. He has all of us here for each other. We all function as a part of another person’s existence. Someone trucked the food, someone raised the food, someone, worked at the power plant, Phone Company, road maintenance and so on. God designed it this way. Let’s redirect our mindset and remember, you are blessed, and things are good.
Receive His peace, and choose peace.
